Calculate isolation areas in a water network

gis2web includes mincut tools to identify valves needed to isolate a water-network fault and show affected customers and meters. It supports teams assessing a planned intervention using their network inventory.

What information is needed?

Prepare a connected network inventory with pipes, valves, supply elements and the relationships needed to associate customers or meters. Review topology and valve availability with the network team. Missing connections or outdated records can change the calculated impact.

How the workflow fits together

Select the affected network elements and calculate the isolation area. Review the proposed closures, affected customers and meters, and any areas disconnected from reservoirs or pumps. Adjust valve exclusions when needed and recalculate the scenario.

Example: a valve cannot be operated

For an illustrative pipe repair, the first calculation proposes an isolation area. If a proposed valve is unavailable, exclude it and recalculate; compare the new affected area and customer list before agreeing the intervention. This is a planning example, not a reported customer outcome.

Review before field execution

Have the responsible network operator check the result against current asset conditions and operating procedures. A map calculation depends on the supplied inventory and does not establish that a valve is physically operable. For a demonstration, bring a representative network extract and a scenario with a known result.

Solutions

Publish interactive GIS maps on your website

gis2web publishes interactive maps from geographic data and embeds them in a website or application. It is designed for teams that need to share an inventory, network or map without building their own viewer.

Manage maintenance teams and assets on a map

GeoGMAO connects asset locations with maintenance planning and field execution. Teams can select assets on a map, group work into batches and collect information through field forms.

Connect your ERP with maps and field workflows

Vidrosoftware develops GIS modules, field applications, data connectors and workflow automation that complement existing business systems. Start with a specific manual process and define the information each system must exchange.
